Do You Want to Know How to Play Blackjack?

If so, this is the right article to read because we're going to make sure that you'll know how to play blackjack by the time you reach the last period in this page. That's right - it's a guarantee so let's not waste any more time dawdling and get right to playing and betting.

The game of blackjack is always a player vs. dealer game so don't bother worrying about the cards of other players. Do that when you're proficient in card counting and shuffle tracking. But if you're not, concentrate on your cards first!

Players are always asked to place their bets before the dealer would start giving out two cards apiece to the players. Your goal is to reach 21 or the number nearest to it in order to win in blackjack. The term blackjack refers to a face card and an ace - these two cards total 21 because the Ace can count as 11 or 1 and face cards are always counted as 10.

Always take care when hitting or drawing additional cards because you might end up with a busted hand or cards totaling more than 21. Players are allowed to draw up to three more additional cards. You lose immediately, by the way, the moment you go over 21. It's ironic, isn't it, that in real life, we lose our claim to innocence as well, when we hit 21 since by then we're all legally recognized as adults.

But enough about that and let's get back to our blackjack game. When considering hitting cards, always study the cards shown by the dealer first because it would give you a clue on what's the right thing to do next.

If the dealer reveals that he has an ace, players have the option of taking insurance. Insurance would let you win if the dealer turns out to have a blackjack - as everybody has feared.

If a player is given a pair for his first two cards, he has the option of splitting it into two hands. If the player has a par ace for his first two cards and he decides to split them, the player is only allowed to draw just one more card. Think well then before splitting.

In some instances, people are also allowed to double down or in other words, double their bets. Again, players are restricted to drawing just one additional card to further improve their hand.

See, wasn't that easy? Now start practicing! Have fun!
